"Which Europe for Human Rights, which Human Rights for Europe?" will be one of the topics of the 3rd World Forum on Human Rights which will be held in Nantes from 30 June to 3 July 2008.

"Which Europe for Human Rights, which Human Rights for Europe?" is the topic of the session organised on 2 July during the 3rd World Forum on Human Rights, which was created in 2004. This session will focus on fundamental rights, migrations and co-development, and will review the European Union's capacity to promote Human Rights in the framework of its foreign policy.

The aim of the Forum held in Nantes is to assist and develop networks of players involved in protecting, respecting and enforcing Human Rights by strengthening solidarity among the various stakeholders (national and local policy-makers, activists and leaders of NGOs, academics and international experts, representatives from international organisations, etc.)

The 3rd World Forum on Human Rights will be held at Nantes International Convention Center (Cité internationale des Congrès) from 30 June to 3 July 2008. It is organised by the International Permanent Secretariat for Human Rights and Local Governments (SPIDH), an association created under French law (Law 1901). Ms Rama Yade, the Minister of State responsible for Foreign Affairs and Human Rights, will attend the forum along with many European and foreign personalities.
