The European Industry Day aims to focus on major European industrial issues during two round-tables, bringing together players from European industry.
Under the High Patronage of the President of the French Republic, the Group of Industrial Federations (GFI) has organised a European-level event entitled "Industry: An ambition for Europe", to be held at the Economic and Social Council in Paris on Thursday, 10 July 2008.
The "Industry: An ambition for Europe" Day aims to focus on major European industrial issues during two round-tables on "European industry and the conquest of new markets" and "Europe's vital need for competitiveness and attractiveness". The speakers will be French and European entrepreneurs and experts, as well as members of the European Commission and the French government. Some 400 participants are expected to attend the event.
Together with their colleagues from the European Industrial Federations, member federations of the GFI will propose the "European Industry Manifesto" during the closing session of this Day. This Manifesto will present European industry and its contributions to major European issues. It will also set out the industrial sector's recommendations and proposals for implementing an industrial strategy and policies of a European dimension, aimed at strengthening the competitiveness and attractiveness of the European territory, while supporting industry's efforts abroad.
