European Conference for the health and eco-industry sectors "EuroBiO 2008"
- from: 07.10.2008
- to: 09.10.2008
- In: Paris, Palais des Congrès
A leading European Life Sciences conference, bringing together the health and eco-industry sectors, EuroBiO 2008 aims to become the European equivalent of the American BIO which for 10 years has played a unifying role and at the core of the strong development of these sectors in the USA.
Ten years after the United States, but with the advantage of accumulated experience, Europe is poised to begin its "Biotechnologies Revolution", creating both value and skilled jobs by fostering innovation.
A meeting-point between the key international competitive clusters, EuroBiO acts as an interface between research and industry, involving the main industrial, scientific and financial players in the field of life sciences. Over five thousand experts are expected to attend the occasion, making EuroBiO the main Life Sciences event of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The conference will review the challenges for the health and eco-industries, in general, and of biotechnologies in particular. The conference speakers will include experts from major groups, research institutes, competitive clusters, professional federations, the world of finance, institutions and the Directorates-General from Brussels, as well as the media, providing an essential interface with the public.
Their work will be compiled in a "Call for change report" to be presented in the major European cities, before the drafting of the final version and its publication under the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2009.
EuroBiO 2008 is a reflection of the awareness of industrial leaders and scientists, and of institutions and politicians, of the enormous economic growth potential represented by the health and eco-industry sectors.
Held within the framework of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, this conference will strengthen the desire to develop high-tech sectors that will form tomorrow's economy, and help a "common innovation policy" to emerge, which is more necessary than ever.
