7th conference on "European corporate law and corporate governance"

On 16 and 17 October 2008, Laurence Parisot, President of France's leading employers' association, MEDEF, Christian Charrière-Bournazel, President of the Paris bar association and Jean-Martin Folz, President of the Association française des entreprises privées (AFEP), a French association of over 85 large companies operating in France, will hold the 7th conference on "European corporate law and corporate governance" in Paris. This conference will be organised around round tables on the following topics: regulations or self-regulation?; the development of corporate social responsibility; the new balance of power within the Board of Directors; greater transparency during takeovers; enhanced dialogue between issuers and shareholders. A large number of industry and finance stakeholders will be attending. This conference will be opened by Charlie McCreevy, European Commissioner for the Internal Market and Services, and Rachida Dati, Keeper of the Seals, French Minister of Justice. It will conclude with a speech by Christine Lagarde, the French Minister for the Economy, Industry and Employment.
