Results of the third European ministerial conference on integration

On Tuesday 4 November, on the second day of the Vichy conference, Brice Hortefeux, the French Minister of Immigration, Integration, National Identity and Mutually-Supportive Development, obtained the agreement of his 26 European counterparts on a series of commitments for advancing integration.
After the Groningen conference in 2004 and the Potsdam conference in 2007, the Vichy conference marked a new stage in terms of both method and substance, because it dealt with issues concerning language learning, promoting the values of the Member States and access to employment.
The Member States committed themselves on the action to take following the ministerial conference in Vichy through common processes and deadlines.
