Seventh EU-Jordan Association Council

The Seventh EU-Jordan Association Council will be held in Brussels on 10. November. This meeting will be the occasion to conduct a general review, in the presence of our Jordanian partners, of close, trust-based relations between the EU and Jordan.
The Association Council will meet at ministerial level. This is the highest decision-making level governing bilateral relations between the EU and Jordan.
Jordan, a founder member of the Euro-Mediterranean partnership launched in Barcelona, was one of the very first countries to enter into relations with the EU through an association agreement and later a neighbourhood action plan. The quality of cooperation established with the EU since the beginning of the partnership in 1995 will continue within the framework of the neighbourhood policy. The launch of the Barcelona Process: Union for the Mediterranean will give fresh impetus to relations.
The EU is conscious of the determined commitment by this country to work for regional development and stability.
