Orange
Orange, Main sponsor of the European Cultural Season
Within the framework of this major event during the French presidency of the European Union, Orange has wanted, by way of this commitment, to provide support for European creativity, mainly in the digital art, the cinema and vocal music, in a way consistent with its trades and sponsorship policy.
These days, there are numerous bridges between art and digital technology and applications. So the Group is supporting the great celebration of the digital arts, the exposition called "In the night, images", under the nave of the Grand Palais in Paris . Orange has got involved in this project by proposing collaboration of Orange Labs with the Studio Le Fresnoy, led by Alain Fleischer, who is also artistic director of the exhibition. Thus certain works are the fruit of work between digital artists and Orange researchers.
Orange has been involved in cinema for many years, promoting films, broadcasting them on its platforms and now co-producing feature films through its subsidiary Studio 37. In autumn/fall 2008, Orange will launch Orange Cinéma Séries, the first single premium television service for all screens. For Orange , associating itself with events which promote the influence of European cinema – such as the Tour de France of European film-makers, Europe month at the Cinémathèque and the Cinéditions trade show – is an opportunity to reaffirm its strategy as an integrated operator and content broadcaster.
Finally, through the Orange Foundation, the Group wanted to support the European Cultural Season’s musical projects, including the joint project co-produced by France and Romania based around the "Codex Caioni", a work of Baroque music from Transylvania and the joint project based around the opera "Mathilde von Guise" by Hummel co-produced by France and Slovakia . The Orange Foundation is also supporting the concert closing the French Presidency of the European Union in Strasbourg based on works by Berlioz. The Orange Foundation has in fact been contributing to the development of collective singing for more than 20 years. It assists young vocal training, choirs, festival master-classes and academies for young singers… By associating itself with creativity and broadcasting in France and in Europe and quality musical productions performed by artists of all nationalities, Orange strengthens its patronage at a European level.
