Practical
performances at Les Subsistances in Lyon from the end of September to 12th October; performances at Tanzquartier in Wien from 13th to 25th October
More than ever and for more than fifty years, fashion has been a way of living and thinking.
Today, whether the costume on the dance stage makes sense or not, it forms part of the piece.
This joint project intends to assemble four choreographers, four stylists and three fashion theorists as well as various performers from the two different countries, Austria and France around the Tanzquartier in Vienna and Les Subsistances in Lyon. It also combines two training organisations, one in Vienna and the Lyon University of Fashion.
The idea is that together these artists and theorists think about the relationships between costumes and movement, that together they reflect and support modern clothes on the dance stage, that fashion clothes, this extraordinary characteristic that everyday is supposed to disrupt, question and enrich the movement of contemporary dance which very often draws its spectacular aspect by hijacking daily life.
The choreographers: Alain Buffard, Chris Haring, Anne Juren, Alex Roccoli
The stylists: Sébastien Meunier, Asha Mines, House of the very island's royal club division middlesex klassenkampf but the question is where are you, now ?
The theorists: Brigitte Felderer
