The European 4-screens Festival, organised on 14, 15 and 16 November 2008 at the Bibliothèque nationale de France (National Library of France) and at the MK2 Bibliothèque in Paris, is the Festival of realistic images in Europe. This includes competitions, showings and a university based on images and changes in them due to the digital revolution.

At the heart of the European Cultural Season, the 2008 Festival includes a variety of events:
films, debates within the Université de l'Image, presentation of the INA’s website on European culture and seminar organized by the Pierre Werner cultural institute.

Feature-length films produced for television and cinema, short films created for the web and mobile and current affairs documents captured on a mobile phone will be presented to the public. The judging panels, composed of well-known European figures and chaired by French designer Jean Nouvel, will award the Ecran d’or and the Ecran d’argent to the best programs.

This second event will include :

The transfer of knowledge to apprentices, students and pupils, at a special day set aside for them (Friday, November 14th);

The emergence of the Global Media: the Université de l’Image looks at European action and American operators’ digital strategies for promoting the moving image.
