Inaugural concert of the French Presidency of the European Union

On 7 July 2008 the French Embassy in Tel Aviv is holding a large gala concert to inaugurate the French Presidency of the European Union. The French mezzo-soprano Christine Labadens is performing as guest soloist of the Israel Chamber, the country's leading chamber music orchestra, under the artistic direction of Gil Shohat. The repertoire includes arias, songs and pieces by Fauré, Debussy, Ravel, Duparc and Bizet.
The concert is followed by a visit to the permanent exhibition rooms of the museum to explore the French collections and European works of the "Ecole de Paris" (School of Paris).
Guests invited (540 places): Israeli Government, European and foreign ambassadors, artistic and cultural partners, European cultural network, economic partners and journalists.
