Jean-Claude Juncker has been reelected as the head of the Eurogroup

Juncker’s reelection was announced by Christine Lagarde, the French economy minister and current chair of the Ecofin council, in a press conference following the Eurogroup meeting.
Her proposal that Juncker, the prime minister of Luxembourg, be reelected, was approved by consensus of the 15 ministers of the euro zone.
Elected for a first term in 2004 and reelected in 2006, Jean-Claude Juncker will begin his third term on 1 January 2009.
